Although Porfirio Díaz was considered a villain, how did you see his post-dictatorship having benefits on Mexico’s economy?
I’m attaching a recent presentation. Look carefully at the logical progression in slides 9-14. The slides address your first question. You may also benefit from the other slides.

Do you feel as though democratic principles ultimately “won” after the reign of Díaz?
Yes, I believe that there are democratic processes at work in Mexico that certainly didn’t exist at the time of Díaz.
When Carranza rose to the presidency, he arranged an important convention, whose outcome was the Constitution of 1917, which is still in effect today. How does the Mexican Revolution, as a whole, have an impact on present-day Mexico?
The Mexican revolution’s impact on Mexico today may be seen in these areas (among others):
1) Resource Nationalism
2) Big Labor Unions
3) Anti-capitalist bias in rhetoric and policymaking. For example, in the 2014 Energy Reform, the motive of market-driven competitiveness does not appear.
